Does it work with my theme?
Very likely. InfiniTint detects your theme’s surface and accent palette and derives the tint from what it finds, so no cooperation from the theme’s author is needed. Detection is tuned against a corpus of bundled and custom themes and keeps improving with each release. Results are most dependable on the IDE’s bundled themes, Armada Dark, Nord, One Dark, and VSCode Theme. On any other theme, try one of the free presets: it shows you exactly how tinting looks before you spend anything. Light and dark themes both work, and so does the pre-2022 Classic UI.
InfiniTint is not affiliated with or endorsed by the authors of third-party themes; theme names are used only to describe compatibility.Will it change my syntax colors?
No. Syntax highlighting for code is never recolored. Tinting moves the window chrome, panels, and the structural parts of the editor, and semantic colors like error red and warning amber keep their meaning.

Does it modify my theme or editor color scheme?
No. Tints are applied at runtime as a layer over the theme. Editor color scheme changes are applied to a dynamically applied InfiniTint color scheme, never the original. Turn tinting off and the theme and scheme render exactly as their authors shipped them.
What is free and what needs a license?
Preset tints are free on any installed theme: eight presets on the IDE’s bundled themes, three on any other theme.
A license adds:
- Unlimited custom tints, with any color
- Tone curves for brightness and contrast
- Reusable scenes
- Automatic switching
- Harmonizing an editor color scheme borrowed from another theme

What happens when my trial or subscription ends?
Nothing is deleted. Custom tints, scenes, and settings stay saved, but looks built on paid features deactivate and the theme falls back to a free preset. Add a license later and everything returns exactly as you left it.
How do I get back to the untinted theme?
Turn off the master tinting switch on the InfiniTint settings page, and the theme returns to its authored colors.
Do my tints sync between machines?
Not automatically. Tints stay local to each IDE installation, and settings sync services merge whole files in ways that could silently drop tints you made on another machine. Instead, InfiniTint provides export and import: carry your custom tints and scenes to another machine as a file, and imports merge additively without overwriting what is already there.
Can I use a personal license for work?
Yes. Following JetBrains licensing policy, the personal and commercial distinction is about who pays for and owns the license, not what you build with it. A personal license is bought with your own funds and cannot be shared or transferred. Commercial licenses are bought by an organization and can be reassigned between employees.
